1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Pack of Raccoons application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and by the Pack of Raccoons User Agreement, Release of Liability, and Assumption of Risk ("User Agreement"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

If these Terms conflict with the User Agreement, the User Agreement controls to the maximum extent permitted by law.

2. Description of Service

The App allows users to:

  • Log user-submitted pin locations associated with activity they independently choose to perform
  • Track items, tools used, notes, photos, and related log data
  • Choose whether a submitted pin is public or private
  • View approved public pins submitted by other users
  • Appear in leaderboards and awards based on approved logs

3. No Organized Cleanup or Direction

The App is a logging and community information tool. Pack of Raccoons does not organize, coordinate, sponsor, supervise, assign, recommend, direct, dispatch, verify, train, or require any cleanup, metal detecting, magnet sweeping, trash pickup, location visit, route, item collection, or user conduct.

Any cleanup, travel, site visit, photograph, observation, retrieval, or related activity is something you independently choose to do, at a time, place, and manner of your own choosing.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App only if you are at least 18 years old
  • Provide accurate and truthful information when logging activity
  • Only upload photos you have the right to share
  • Not upload photos containing bystanders, license plates, or addresses
  • Respect private property and all federal, state, and local laws
  • Get any required permission, license, or permit before entering property, metal detecting, magnet sweeping, digging, or removing anything
  • Not submit false or misleading log data
  • Not use the App as an emergency, hazard, law-enforcement, sanitation, or public-works reporting channel

5. Pin Locations and Map Data

Pin locations are user-submitted points associated with logs. They are not verified by Pack of Raccoons and may not represent a user's current location, the exact location of any item, a safe access point, public property, or a place other users should visit.

Map data, GPS coordinates, and user-submitted pin locations may be inaccurate, incomplete, stale, or unsafe to rely on. You are solely responsible for deciding whether any activity is lawful and safe.

6. Content Guidelines

6.1 User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of content you upload, but grant the App a license to display and distribute it within the platform.

6.2 Prohibited Content

You may not upload content that:

  • Violates privacy rights (faces, license plates, addresses)
  • Is obscene, harmful, or threatening
  • Infringes intellectual property rights
  • Promotes illegal activities
  • Encourages trespass, unsafe activity, harassment, or collection of hazardous materials

7. Privacy and Data

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at /privacy. The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

8. Leaderboards and Awards

Leaderboards and awards are recognition features based on approved logs. They are not instructions, assignments, challenges, requests, prizes, compensation, or encouragement to visit any location or perform any activity.

  • Only approved pins with photos are eligible for rankings
  • Admin approval is required for pins to appear on leaderboards
  • We reserve the right to remove pins that violate these Terms
  • We may remove ranking eligibility, awards, or content at any time

9. Safety

You are solely responsible for your safety and conduct. Do not enter private property without permission. Do not handle hazardous materials. Do not work in or near traffic. Do not rely on App content as safety advice, legal advice, training, or permission to act.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PACK OF RACCOONS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, LOSS OF DATA, OR CLAIMS ARISING FROM USER ACTIVITY.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, subject to the dispute-resolution provisions in the User Agreement.

15. Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use this App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
